Sono uno studente della scuola europea di varese nel settore secondario e sono pienamente d'accordo con il commento di ,,mubi,,.Tutto ciò che è stato detto in quel commento è vero e purtroppo viene svolto così. Se io avessi avuto la possibilità di cambiare scuola lo avrei fatto ma non ho avuto questa opportunità e ora sono al ultimo anno. Mandando i vostri figli in questa scuola dovete tenere conto anche di tantissimi altri problemi nel sistema che non sono stati detti.Sicuramente nel futuro non manderò i miei figli in questa scuola piena di ragazzini viziati e lo consiglio anche a voi.

Sono una studentessa alla Scuola Europea di Varese, e sono completamente d’accordo con quello che ha detto Mubi. Peccato non si possano dare 0 stelle perché più di quelle la scuola non si merita. Se potessi cambierei ma ormai è troppo tardi e questa scuola mi ha rovinato tutti i miei anni scolastici. Tanto dicono sempre che cambierà qualcosa ma non cambia mai niente e cercano di nascondere questi problemi. Non ve la consiglio!

Durante la pausa non si può entrare nell’edificio erasmus neanche per andare in bagno, durante le lezioni non si può andare in bagno e durante la pausa di 5 minuti non puoi andare in bagno perché gli insegnati ti mettono in ritardo. Anche se non è neanche suonata la campana. C’è dico è una scuola o il carcere di rebibbia. Se potessi mettere 0 stelle lo farei

Ho iniziato la scuola europea nel 63. Avevo 5 anni. La mia seconda lingua era il francese che non ho mai dimenticato avendo avuto dei bravissimi insegnanti di madre lingua.

La scuola mi piace molto ho frequentato li le elementari, le medie e superiori, apprezzo molto il fatto che hanno combinato medie e superiori in un unico blocco da 7 anni che trovo sia una soluzione eccellente che fa fare allo studente un anno in meno rispetto alla scuola italiana.

This only applies to the secondary (S4-7): I would never send my offspring to this secondary. There are good teachers, but teaching is heavily stifled by the system. It may depend on several factors, but generally:

-Obsolete and entirely self-referential system. The system was created in the mid-60s to educate new generations of eurocrats, and it hasn’t been able to update to the reality of the 21st century world outside its own bubble.
-Most local parents send students there partly for its (old) hype, partly for the “leniency” in marks / “simplicity” as to expectations... More appearance than substance…
- Stifled by systematic bureacracy. The entire system is a hamster wheel. Aimlessly and almost entirely focussed on inspectors' visits, on petty provisions in endless regulations, on "looking good" from the outside, and, of course, on the infamous harmonised exams (what they call 'exams', btw, are normal tests you sit once a month in Italian licei).
- Complete lack of vision when it comes to academic worth, and no culture of respect for teachers. Locally recruited teachers have very few rights and are expected to put up with being treated like doormats, at the mercy of management, of some parents and of their entitled kids.
-Teachers are pressured into inflating marks and into removing challenges, to keep parents, students (and the system itself) happy, regardless of merit and commitment. All this in a school where they pass tests with 50% (these pampered kids are in for a rude awakening once they exit that unrealistic bubble and tackle real challenges, especially in the top colleges they aim at).
-As a result, except for the obvious language advantages, most students coming from this secondary will never be as knowledgeable as their peers from a good Italian 'liceo'.
-Some students simply don't make an effort throughout their secondary, as they know in some departments they will not be "disappointed", not even in a simple formative test; moreover, teachers are often hindered in their functions (remember the 'doormat'...?) and have to stoop low to avoid backlash.
-Teachers in some departments are expected to be replicas of each other... little to no academic freedom. One basically becomes a clerk and ‘does what told to’.
-"Questionable" conflict management styles, with staged pantomimes with parents, mainly aimed at scaring teachers into being meek (in exchange for peace of mind).
There would be much more to say, but in a nutshell: look elsewhere. Save your money for better purposes, i.e. to send your children on school semesters /years abroad, on study vacations, etc, and pick a good (and free..) Italian liceo instead.
